Event During Last Year's World Animal Day, 2009

Jamyang Buddhist Centre in Leeds had an Animal Blessing that included Police horses (see photos on their website).

Vajrayana Institute in Sydney, Australia, held an Animal Blessing and despite the inclement whether, many dogs, a cat, guinea pigs and silk worms made their way around the stupa and were blessed by prayers and mantras from resident teacher Geshe Ngawang Samten, students and visitors.

The last dog on the block leaves the stupa, Vajrayana Institute, Sydney.

These are just a few examples of what Buddhists did on World Animal Day 2009.

Rejoice and Dedicate!

Remember that people all around the world did practices to help animals on this day. Rinpoche always stresses the vast benefits of rejoicing in your own and others’ virtue. And dedicate the huuuuge amount of merit that has been generated.
